We saw a foggy start to our Friday with cloud cover overhead for most of the day. Temperatures were still able to warm into the 40s and 50s across the region this afternoon. Temperatures tonight will be split with cooler air to the west and clouds over central Kansas keeping temperatures in the middle to upper 30s. Southwesterly winds will take control by daybreak. Patchy fog will be possible across much of the central portion of the state tomorrow morning. Some areas could see low visibility before 9 AM. A few light showers and patches of drizzle will be possible across southcentral Kansas during the first half of Saturday but moisture will be limited and totals will be minimal. We all see sunnier skies by Saturday afternoon. Highs jump into the 50s and 60s across the state tomorrow. This is well above average as winds from the south help pull warmer air into the region. We continue to trend warmer through the weekend making for a beautiful end to 2024. Partly cloudy skies and light winds will create perfect conditions to take down the Christmas lights or any other outdoor chores. Our next cold front arrives late Monday night. Moisture will just clip the Sunflower State with a few showers and flurries possible in northeastern Kansas. We crash to the 40s on New Year's Eve, ending the year near our seasonal average. Temperatures stay chilly into 2025 as we stay in the 40s through next weekend. KSN Storm Track 3 Forecast from Meteorologist Lucy Doll: Wichita:Tonight: Mostly cloudy. 10% chance of showers.
