HS Boys Basketball Wrap: Hopewell Valley, Lawrence to meet for Molinelli title

HOPEWELL TWP. — The Hopewell Valley boys basketball team will be looking to make it back-to-back John Molinelli Holiday Tournament championships.
Milan Desai scored 14 points and Matt Stein’s Bulldogs moved into the final with a 47-26 victory over Harry S. Truman on Friday afternoon.
Hopewell (3-2) faces CVC rival Lawrence (4-2) in the championship for the second straight season. The Cardinals advanced with a 45-34 victory — their fourth in a row — over Ocean Township.
Noah Johansen led Lawrence with 13 points, Marvin McNeil tallied 12 and Josh Wilson added 10.
Robbinsville 61, Bordentown 58
ROBBINSVILLE — Tyler Bunnell and Frank Pagano scored 14 points each and the host Ravens (4-1) rallied in the second half to beat the Scotties (0-2) in the Robbinsville Winter Classic. Marcus Rodolphe had 13 points and Liam Butler finished with 12 to give coach Conor Hayes’ side four in double figures. Chase Martin led all scorers with 25 for Bordentown.
Southern Regional 67, Trenton 50
MANAHAWKIN — Noah Perna went off for 30 points, Jake Sliwinski added 19 and the host Rams (3-1) handled the Tornadoes (2-3) at the Score at the Shore. Juan Sanches led Trenton with 14 points and Aivaye Ingram added 11.
Nottingham 65, Jackson Liberty 57
PT. PLEASANT — Jayden Williams poured in 24 points, Liam Cox added 13 and the Northstars (4-1) knocked off the Lions (1-1) in the Cole Young Memorial Holiday Tournament.
Hightstown 60, East Brunswick 56
RED BANK — The Rams (4-1) won their fourth straight game to advance past the Bears (1-3) in the Buc Classic. Jason Whitlock had 26 points for Hightstown.
Montgomery 68, Princeton 35
SKILLMAN — Ethan Lin scored 20 points, Bohdah Biekietov added 11 and the host Cougars (4-1) defeated the Tigers (1-3) in the Cougar Holiday Classic. Michael Bees Jr. paced Princeton with 10 points.
PDS 55, Barnegat 51
CINNAMINSON — The Panthers (2-2) worked overtime to beat the Bengals (4-1) in the Cinnaminson Holiday Showcase. PDS rallied from a deficit at the end of the third quarter by outscoring Barnegat, 13-9, over the final eight minutes and 7-3 in OT. Abdoulaye Seydi led the Panthers 16 points and Gary Jennings and Vincent Fills had 14 each.
Neptune 48, Allentown 45
NEPTUNE — The Redbirds (0-3) dropped a one-possession game to the Scarlet Fliers (3-1) in the Neptune Holiday Jubilee. Mattox Watson netted 15 points for Allentown.
New Egypt 48, Steinert 46
NEW EGYPT — Nolan Arnold put in 28 points to lead all scorers and the Warriors (2-2) knocked off the Spartans (0-5) to reach the championship game of the Warrior Holiday Classic. Anthony Santucci scored 14 for Steinert.
