CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP)-- AAA is predicting some 119-million people will travel 50 miles or more between the holidays and the New Year, with about 8-million passengers in the air.
Some travelers are heading home after their holiday trips, while others are leaving for a holiday vacation.

As early at 5 am Friday morning, passengers were met with long security lines at Bradley International Airport, extending beyond the barriers and down the baggage check hallway. The line was constantly moving, and less than an hour later, there was no one, leaving some passengers in shock.
"So I just got yelled at because my daughter said 'Mom we are here super early' but I figured the holidays, there would be a lot of lines," said Cerrianne Panciera of Amherst.
"They had sent us a text saying, 'Come early. Come early'," remarked Renee Walsh of New Bern, North Carolina. "My husband travels a lot over the years for work and he said 'It won't be as bad as they're saying,' so we were not worried and it is even better than we thought."
Friday morning there were only a handful of delayed flights at Bradley, but if you are flying to parts of Southern or Western United States, here is what you need to know about refunds.
Back in April, the Biden-Harris Administration announced the final ruling that requires airlines to promptly provide passengers with automatic cash refunds when owed. The new rule makes it easy for passengers to get refunds when an airline cancels or significantly changes their flights and they do not accept the alternative transportation or travel credit, a flight needs to be delayed more than 3 hours for a domestic flight and 6 hours for international in order to qualify.
Passengers may also receive a refund if they fill out a mishandled bag report and did not receive their bag within 12 hours of landing for domestic and 15-30 for international, depending on the distance traveled.
Lastly, a refund is issued when an airline fails to provide extra services the passenger purchased, including Wi-Fi, in-light entertainment or seat selection.
Airlines are still asking passengers to plan in advance and arrive to the airport 2 hours early for a domestic flight and 3 hours for an international flight.
