RIO RANCHO, N.M. (KRQE) – A Rio Rancho woman is in custody after being accused of shooting and killing her wife. Gallup Municipal Airport expands commercial flights to Las Vegas, Nevada Authorities were called to the area of Willow Creek Rd. and Animas Ct. just before 6:30 p.m. Thursday to reports of shots being fired. When they arrived, they found a woman with a gunshot wound to her torso. The victim was transported to the hospital, where she later died from her injuries. Police arrested Darlene Valencia-Dean, she is facing an open count of murder among other charges.
