WOONSOCKET, R.I. (WPRI) — Police are asking for the public's assistance finding the driver who hit a teenager in Woonsocket and took off Friday afternoon. Woonsocket Police Chief Thomas Oates said officers were called to Lincoln Street just before 2 p.m. to investigate a hit-and-run involving a pedestrian. Oates said the 14-year-old boy was riding an electric scooter when he was hit by an oncoming car. He was brought to Hasbro Children's Hospital with injuries to his head and arms that don't appear to be life-threatening. The suspect is believed to be a Black man who was last seen wearing a black ski mask. His vehicle is described as a black Buick LeSabre with Massachusetts license plates. Anyone who can identify the driver is asked to contact the Woonsocket Police Department by calling (401) 766-1212. Close Thanks for signing up! Watch for us in your inbox.
