MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man has been arrested and charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault and reckless endangerment after a woman was stabbed nearly 30 times.
David Anderson, 66, was taken into custody Friday after an attack that allegedly happened Oct. 25.
That's when staff at Methodist University Hospital say someone in a gray sedan dropped off the victim around 1:30 in the morning. The woman was bleeding from 25-29 stab wounds and suffered a punctured lung.
A few days later, the woman regained enough strength to begin telling police what happened.

She told police she was Anderson's house on Edmondson Avenue in South Memphis, where Anderson consumed a substance she described as "crack," then unexpectedly began strangling her.
She said Anderson then took a knife and began stabbing her repeatedly while threatening to kill her. She said she was dragged from the couch to the kitchen area as he continued to stab her.
No bond has been set for Anderson.
