GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) -- The long-awaited Westin hotel in downtown Greensboro is set to begin construction in the new year after multiple delays since its announcement. Greensboro issued a building permit for the hotel located at 203 S Elm St. on Friday, with the total cost of construction listed at $22.5 million. The Greensboro Planning Department approved the site plan at the end of November. Monty Hagler of RLF Communications, the spokesperson for the developers, said construction will begin in 2025 — though he was unable to provide a more specific timeline.
