WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (WGHP) -- Police have charged a man with murder after his wife was found dead in their home last week. On Dec. 20, Winston-Salem Police Department found Carla Osmara Zepeda-Martinez, 31, of Winston-Salem, dead inside of her apartment off of East Devonshire Street. Jorge Alberto Martinez, 33, identified as the victim's husband, was found in the apartment needing medical attention and was transported to the hospital in critical condition. Investigators determined that Zepeda-Martinez's cause of death was homicide, but the cause of death will not be known until the full autopsy report is released. After consulting with the Forsyth County District Attorney's Office and reviewing the medical examiner's preliminary findings, the Winston-Salem Police Department charged Jorge Alberto Martinez with felony murder on Thursday. He was given no bond. The investigation is ongoing.
