After enjoying a break from organized rain showers on Thursday, another weather system has tracked into the area today. More rain chances will be the theme of the forecast to end 2024... Look for the widespread rain of the afternoon to scatter out this evening into tonight. Take the umbrella with you as you're heading out and about. Temperatures will only drop as low as the upper 40s overnight, with wind gusts up to 30 mph possible at times. Scattered rain continues this evening.Temperatures continue to rise overnight. By daybreak Saturday, we'll just be tracking the slight chance for a rain shower. Then we'll dry out Saturday afternoon, and southwesterly winds will give our temperatures a really nice boost! We're tracking high temperatures to reach the mid-to-upper 50s! While not record-breaking, it will feel spring-like outside, so take advantage of the warmth. We may even see some peeks of sunshine during the afternoon hours. Only a slight rain chance exists Saturday morning.We could tap into a little bit of sunshine by Saturday afternoon.Highs Saturday soar into the mid-to-upper 50s! Confidence is then increasing in another weather system bringing us a widespread, soaking rainfall Saturday night into Sunday. Periods of rain are looking likely, along with gusty winds; gusts up to 30 mph are expected. Periods of rain arrive Saturday night.The rain will be heavy at times into our Sunday.Winds will also be quite strong as this system moves through.Rain chances continue Sunday afternoon. Unlike the past few systems that have only brought us light rainfall amounts, there's the chance this system could bring us heavier rainfall totals. We're talking totals of around an inch to an inch and a half, which would be excellent news for the drought we have in place. Stay tuned for updates, but get ready for a soggy end to the last weekend of the year. Highs Sunday will be a little cooler in the upper 40s. A good soaking rainfall is on the way from our next weather system. We're dry and partly cloudy on Monday, with highs in the 40s. We then track more rain chances Monday night into New Year's Eve along a cold front. Behind this front, we're turning much colder into the new year.
