Allen County swears in elected officials

ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) -- Friday, six county officials were sworn into office for Allen County.
Allen County Commissioner Nelson Peters opened the ceremony before the new county officials were sworn in alongside a presentation of colors from the American Legion Post 47 Honor Guard and a National Anthem sung by Staff Sergeant Allie Jones, 122nd Fighter Wing.
Ashley Hand was sworn in as the Judge of the Circuit Court 38th Judicial, Samantha Chenery was sworn in as Allen County Treasurer, Dr. E. Jon Brandenberger was sworn in as the County Coroner, Michael Fruchey was sworn in as the County Surveyor, Ronald Turpin was sworn in as the County Commissioner for District 1, and Robert Armstrong, Ken Fries, and Lindsey Hammond were all sworn in as County Council Members At-Large.
Ronald Turpin takes over the spot of current Allen County Commissioner Nelson Peters, who is retiring from his position on the council.
Lindsey Hammond faced three incumbents and managed to join Ken Fries and Robert Armstrong on the republican side defeating Kyle Kerley in the primaries.
All of those sworn in Friday will begin their terms Jan. 1 2025.
