(KRON) -- A massive pothole on southbound Interstate 880 in Oakland damaged around a dozen vehicles Friday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol. Multiple lanes of the interstate were closed near the Oak Street onramp before repairs.
The pothole was approximately 8 to 12 feet wide and spanned an entire lane, CHP’s incident log said. The hazard caused flats to 10 to 12 vehicles, an update just after 6 a.m. said. The damaged vehicles were moved off of the roadway for assistance.

Only one far left lane of southbound I-880 was open at 7:13 a.m. By 7:29 a.m., two left lanes were open.
