(KRON) -- A suspect who was pulled over during an East Bay sideshow was arrested on multiple weapons violations, the Hayward Police Department announced Thursday.
The arrest came after Hayward officers were conducting a sideshow enforcement operation. A suspect vehicle was pulled over and the driver was contacted, police said. During the encounter, officers smelled freshly burned marijuana, Hayward PD said, and saw unsealed marijuana in plain view.

A search of the vehicle uncovered a loaded, stolen handgun within a hidden compartment, police said.
The driver, who police did not identify, was arrested for multiple weapons violations.
The police department is reminding the community that while possessing marijuana is legal in California, it cannot be consumed inside a vehicle and it must be transported sealed or stored in the truck.
