NORTH CONWAY, N.H. (WPRI) — Video captured by the Mount Washington Avalanche Center showed snow racing down the mountain on Christmas Eve. After several inches of snow and hours of wind, the center says a "large natural avalanche" happened in the Hillman's Highway area. No people got caught up in the avalanche. "Through the rest of the week, the risk of avalanches will be elevated as wind has the opportunity to continue moving light-density snow and forming sensitive wind slabs," the center said.
