(COLORADO SPRINGS) — A local family received one extra Christmas gift when their cat, who went missing, was found and given back to them. The Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region (HSPPR) ended up with Socks, a black cat, who instead of celebrating the holiday with family had somehow landed at the shelter as a stray a few days before Christmas. Socks' family had been looking for him for various days, and when they checked HSPPR's website, they spotted the one family member they were missing. "When they spotted his adorable mug posted on our website, they instantly recognized their sweet boy!" wrote HSPPR via Facebook. Alas, Socks was picked up on Christmas Eve, just in time to make it for Christmas and celebrate by snuggling with his favorite humans and maybe even swipe a little bit of milk from Santa.
