Rain showers and cloudy for Friday
Dec 27, 2024
We saw a few peaks of sunshine Thursday afternoon, which was a nice relief to what was a gloomy Christmas. So far for the month of December, we have only seen 20% of available sunshine for the month. While a few more days with some sunny moments will occur before the new year, we'll end the month of December with more gloom than sunshine.
Skies are mostly cloudy this morning as temperatures have fallen into the lower 40s. Some are seeing some skies clear to start the day. You won't need the coat today. Instead, have the jacket handy, and the umbrella as well, as we see high temperatures continue to warm up along with rain showers today. Temperatures rise through the 40s this morning with more clouds moving in.

Rain showers may impact some this mid-morning, with wider swaths of rain looking to move in late morning and into the early afternoon. So, having the umbrella in your car for any of your afternoon commutes is a good idea today. The low pressure will be pushing warmer air from the south, continuing a warming trend of high temperatures over the past few days. High temperatures climb into the lower 50s. It may also be a bit breezy at times with gusts up to 25 mph.

The arrival of a low-pressure system today will mark one of many rain/snow chances over the next seven days, marking a weather pattern through next week. Our next weather system arrives Saturday night into Sunday. The track of this system will determine how much we pick up, so we'll keep you up-to-date with the latest. Around 0.5" to an inch of rainfall looks to be possible at this time. Highs on Sunday are a little cooler, in the upper 40s.
Another weather system passes by Saturday night into Sunday.
