(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Changes are coming to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo's (CMZoo) admissions gates while construction is underway. According to the CMZoo, starting in January, visitors to the zoo will need to follow instructions once they are at the zoo for a temporary admission point while a new one is being built. The improvements to admissions are accompanied by other projects around the zoo, including a new giraffe barn, an expanded giraffe yard, and more. The zoo provided some steps for visitors to take to avoid being lost once they get to the zoo: Step 1: Ticket Scan Park at the zoo at your ticketed time (advance-timed tickets are still required). Look for the sign that says “Step 1: Ticket Scan” at the zoo entrance. Employees will stamp your hand to document your scanned tickets. Look for a sign that says “Step 2: Stamp Check” and get your hand stamp checked by staff. Straight ahead will be an updated map, and on the right, restrooms, the Mountaineer Sky Ride, and animal feeding and carousel tickets. You'll turn left to enter Water’s Edge: Africa and Primate World and to access the rest of the Zoo. Visitors should return to this gate to leave the zoo.
