SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Millions of Americans are expected to travel for the holidays. Between now and the New Year the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) expects to screen more than 40-million air travelers. Some people traveling at Bradley International Airport gave themselves plenty of time to find parking and feel stress free before boarding, while others who didn't plan extra time faced traffic heading into the airport. What you need to know ahead of post-holiday travel Parking is first come first serve and no reservations are needed, but airport officials are reminding travelers to give enough time for parking, checking in bags, and going through security. "We were here to visit my brother and sister in law," said Elizabeth Lawrence of Greensboro, North Carolina. "We're going through Atlanta back to Greensboro." "We just traveled here to be with family and now were traveling back to be with our family back home," remarked Mary Love, also from Greensboro. AAA predicts 119-million people will travel 50 miles or more between now and January 1, 2025. That's 3 million more than last year. A reminder, arrive two hours before domestic flights and three before international. But, during the holiday rush, take more time to help avoid stress and increase your patience. "This morning I got up at 6AM, drove my dad back to Madison, came back up here and now I'm on my way back to Miami," said Jon Fischer of Miami, Florida. "I grew up in Longmeadow," explained Mark Vezzola of San Diego, California. "I was out here to see my parents. We got turned around looking for the rental car return but it was okay." Because of the larger volume of travelers, it may take a little longer to find parking at the airport. To check the availability of the parking lots at Bradley before arriving click here.
