Valley-Wide Recreation and Park District will hold its fifth annual Polar Plunge 9 a.m. Jan. 4 at the Diamond Valley Aquatic Center in Hemet. Participants will jump or slide into the center’s unheated swimming pool and are invited to donate to participating nonprofit organizations. The water temperature for the January Polar Plunge is usually around 50 degrees, according to a news release. There is no charge to enter the pool, but those who take the plunge, and others, may donate to the participating charity of their choice. The first 50 people who donate at least $10 will receive an event T-shirt, according to the news release. Charitable organizations are invited to participate, and those selected will receive all the money donated to them, according to the news release. The Diamond Valley Aquatic Center is at 1801 Angler Ave., Hemet, near Diamond Valley Lake.
