The Latest from Storm Team 5...
The main concern across the area is lingering freezing drizzle across the Northwoods this evening with temperatures still holding below freezing.
A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for Marinette, Menominee, Oconto and Shawano counties through 9pm this evening, warning for areas of slippery travel. Temperatures beyond that point should begin to warm above freezing.
We continue to see foggy skies in place across northeast Wisconsin, and it doesn't appear like it will be going anywhere anytime soon. The National Weather Service has issued a DENSE FOG ADVISORY for our area through Friday at noon, but most likely will be extended through Saturday as areas of fog will continue.
Now in terms of precipitation, tonight expect more on the way of scattered on and off rain showers to move into the area. Temperatures tonight will remain fairly steady, coolest up north in the mid 30s, and closer to 40s for the rest by the time we reach the AM commute tomorrow.
The chance for on and off rain showers will continue Friday morning. It looks like things will be fairly quiet mid day, but more widespread steady rain showers arrive Friday late afternoon, evening, and into the overnight. High temperatures will sit in the upper 30s and low 40s.
Saturday we will see the precipitation break a part throughout the morning, and where some cool air returns in north central and central WI, there could be some wet snowflakes, but no accumulation looks likely. Total rainfall amounts look anywhere from a quarter up to three quarters of an inch. Dry weather for Saturday afternoon, highs into the low to mid 40s.
Sunday will be a nice day, mostly cloudy with a high temperature around 40. Temperatures take a tumble as we head into the new year.
