EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) - Patel Capital Groups has acquired the Gateway Hotel to rebrand it as La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham, Downtown El Paso officials announced on Thursday, Dec. 26, via its Facebook page.
"We are pleased to announce the acquisition of a 110-Unit Hotel in the prime location of Downtown El Paso, just steps from the Judson F. Williams Convention Center and Key Government Offices. This property offers significant growth potential in a rapidly developing market," read a Facebook post from Patel Capital Gorups.
Patel Capital Groups said the hotel will undergo a complete renovation and rebranding as La Quinta Inn. Planned amenities include a bar, meeting space, bistro, valet service, a gym, catering to business, military and leisure travelers.
As we previously reported, the El Paso County Attorney's Office and the owners of the Gateway Hotel reached a settlement agreement back in October to shut down the Downtown El Paso establishment, which has been accused of being a public nuisance and a hotbed of criminal activity and drug use.
