New law requires fossil fuel companies to pay for climate changefueled damages

Gov. Kathy Hochul signed a bill creating a $75 billion fund to pay for damages caused by climate change. The money will be paid by oil and gas companies, as well as other companies whose pollution has influenced climate change.
