DUBLIN, Ohio (WCMH) – A central Ohio high school marching band is one of 14 finalists in a nationwide competition.
The Dublin Scioto marching band made it to the final round of the second annual For Whom the Band Tolls competition. The contest is put on by rock band Metallica and features entries from across the country.
Dublin Scioto uploaded a video of their show “At the Midnight Hour” for their submission, featuring well-known Metallica hits “For Whom the Bell Tolls,” “Nothing Else Matters” and “Enter Sandman.”
Metallica’s members chose the finalists based on three areas: performance, originality and musical ability. Now, the public gets to weigh in by voting for their favorite performance.
You can cast your vote online at metallicamarchingband.com or by texting the entry’s hashtag -- #HSDublin in Dublin Scioto's case -- to 833-609-0330. The winning marching band will get a custom package of music equipment worth $20,000. Voting ends on Dec. 31 at 11:59 p.m.
