Parkville couple getting married at Arrowhead ahead of Chiefs game

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- While the Chiefs prepare for Sunday night's game, one Parkville couple is getting ready for their wedding at Arrowhead Stadium.
They're getting married ahead of the Chiefs vs. Charges game thanks to a contest they won from the Chiefs and Helzberg.
“We're getting ‘Married with Mahomies’ this year,” bride Talia Pernice said.
She and her fiancé Josh Lindquist are self-proclaimed die-hard Chiefs fans. So, it's only fitting that Lindquist got down on one knee and popped the question in August at a Chiefs pre-season game.

Lindquist called on a stranger to record this video of the proposal. Pernice said it was a total surprise.
“He just kept saying, as we got closer, ‘Talia, Talia.’ And I was like, ‘What? We need to get in the game!’ And he got down on one knee. I mean it was complete and total shock,” she said.
The couple picked a wedding date in October of next year.
While shopping for venues, they threw a Hail Mary and entered the 'Hut, Hut, Hitched' contest with Helzberg and the Chiefs. Lindquist said they were one of 1,200 other couples to enter the contest.
“We're getting Hut Hut, Hitched,” Pernice said.
They planned the wedding in three weeks – to celebrate “Love at Arrowhead.”
“Never in a million years would we have dreamed that we would experience this at Arrowhead Stadium,” Lindquist said.
“It's like winning the lottery for us, winning the lottery for us, for sure,” Pernice said.
The ceremony will happen on the Drum Deck ahead of Sunday night's Chiefs game.
The package includes a VIP Tailgate, tickets for 30 friends and famil, including the wedding party, and Locker Room Club access.
They would love to see a couple of their favorite players.

But the couple is most excited to say, "I do", and start their forever.
“I feel like Talia is my soulmate, I’ve told her she is my person,” Lindquist said.
“So, grateful and very humbled at the opportunity to do this.”
“I'm excited to go up those stairs and turn the corner with my dad and see Josh,” Talia said.
“I feel so blessed and lucky to have this opportunity to spend my life with a man that I prayed for and to do it with all the people I love the most. My heart is just bursting with love and gratitude.”
Then, they'll celebrate with thousands of other ‘friends’ and fans; a great wedding gift would be a Chiefs win.
