Man, woman hospitalized after separate overnight New Orleans shootings

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — A man and a woman have been hospitalized following two separate, overnight shootings that happened in New Orleans in the evening hours of Dec. 25 and the early morning hours of Dec. 26.
According to the New Orleans Police Department, the first shooting, which happened in the 5100 block of Lafaye Street, was first reported at 10:50 p.m.

Police say the initial investigation showed that a man and the suspect got into an altercation and, upon exiting his vehicle, the suspect started firing his gun at the victim.
The victim was then taken to a local hospital.
Officials say the second shooting, which happened in the 1200 block of Columbus Street, was first reported at 2:50 a.m.
The initial investigation reportedly showed that the suspect shot a woman after an altercation. The suspect then fled and the victim was taken by New Orleans EMS to a local hospital.
