LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) — As the holiday season wraps up, state officials are asking people to donate their natural Christmas trees to use for fish habitats.
The Department of Fish and Wildlife says their annual Christmas tree recycling program begins Thursday and lasts until January 15th.
There are several drop-off sites across the state for people to donate their natural Christmas trees.
These trees will be submerged in lakes and reservoirs where fish can use them as shelter.
In Lexington, people can donate their trees at Jacobson Park in the Craft Parking Lot.
