Investigators say the driver of a BMW 535I car was speeding northbound on Hardesty when they crossed over a double yellow line and continued northbound in the southbound lanes.
The driver hit a concrete median and metal traffic pole, continued across Winner and went up a grassy hill before launching across a driveway and into the building.
The driver was declared dead at the scene, and the passenger went to a hospital with serious injuries. The latest report is the passenger's condition has stabilized.
Police haven't identified the victim yet, and say this is the 93rd victim who has died in a crash this year, compared with 100 at this time in 2023.
