One man dead, a child injured following crash in Oconto County

CHASE, Wis. (WFRV) - Authorities in Oconto County say one man is dead and a four-year-old child is injured following a crash Wednesday morning.
According to a release from the Oconto County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded at 10:48 a.m. to County Highway S near the intersection of County Highway C in the Town of Chase for reports of a crash.

Once on scene, deputies say a Chevrolet SUV had extensive damage after crashing into a tree and coming to a stop in a yard near a home.
Officials determined that a 29-year-old Pulaski man was driving the vehicle east on County Highway S and, for an unknown reason, the vehicle was driven off the roadway, through a ditch, and into a field where it continued on heading east through the field until it crashed into a tree.
The 29-year-old man died at the scene due to his injuries sustained in the crash. A 4-year-old passenger was taken to a hospital in Green Bay and was treated for minor injuries.

At this time, no other details are available and an investigation into the crash remains ongoing by the Oconto County Sheriff's Office.
