Residents cannot put out Christmas trees for regular weekly trash and recycling pickup. The recycling program is only for live trees, not wreaths or any artificial decorations. Ornaments, tinsel, plastic bags and anything else on the trees must be removed before recycling. The recycled trees are woodchipped and used as mulch by county parks and local organizations, county officials said.
