WASHINGTON (DC News Now) -- Homicide detectives are investigating a shooting that left a man dead in D.C. overnight. The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) said their preliminary investigation indicated that around 12:40 a.m. on Dec. 26, officers were dispatched to the 2700 block of Fairlawn Avenue SE for shooting. Once at the scene, officers found a man who had been shot. Police said first responders tried to save him, but he died at the scene. 6 people, dog displaced after Christmas Day fire in DC As of Thursday morning, no suspects had been taken into custody, and the victim's name had not yet been released.
