ATTLEBORO, Mass. (WLNE) — The Attleboro water superintendent has resigned. After drought conditions this past summer have left Attleboro in a water emergency until early next year, the city’s Water Superintendent, Kourtney Allen, handed in her resignation. In a letter to residents, Mayor Cathleen DeSimone said the city would begin the process for hiring a new superintendent. The letter also addressed how many of the water issues in the past few months stemmed from valve issues that went unaddressed for several weeks. DeSimone had said in November that rumors of human error causing a water loss were “baseless” The statement also said that “oversight and communication issues” allowed the loss. Categories: News
