We're continuing to track a few lingering rain showers across the area this morning. Dense fog and mist have also stationed themselves here for the AM. We'll see the biggest rain shower chances decrease through this morning. Temperatures this morning, thanks to the cloudy skies and foggy conditions, are in the upper 30s. The AM fog and mist linger for most of this morning, not seeing much improvement until we approach lunchtime, as a nearby stationary front, which is driving the rainy and foggy moments, breaks apart. This helps remove the fog and dries us out, but we'll stay cloudy all day long. Many places are seeing visibility around or less than 1 mile. For lingers for quite a few across the area after daybreak.Visibilities vastly improved entering the afternoon. The stationary front was blocking warmer air from moving into the area. And as that front breaks later this morning, it'll allow for warmer air to push north. Temperatures soar into the 40s this morning and into the afternoon. Highs today reach the upper 40s—notable warmth compared to yesterday. Mid-40s entering the afternoon as foggy/misty conditions conclude for most. Temperatures get even warmer into the weekend, with highs in the 50s. Friday marks the arrival of our next weather system, which gets us a wet conclusion to the workweek. Friday holds the biggest rain chances, and although Saturday and Sunday's rain chances are smaller, we will at least see warmer temps. Our above average stretch of temperature continues. Temperatures only get colder after this weekend with highs in the upper 40s Monday, dropping into the 30s by New Year's Day. Looks like the New Year's Resolution for 2025 was to bring us back to colder times.
