(KRON) -- A family was sent to the hospital after their car was struck by a drunk driver Monday in Cotati, the Cotati Police Department. The crash happened on Highway 116 and the Highway 101 on-ramp. Callers said one car flipped onto its side. Motorcyclist dies in Christmas Eve crash in Vallejo Police arrived to find a separate car with damage to its front. A male was next to the car, who police determined caused the crash and fled afterward. Officers then located the car on its side and extracted its passengers. Multiple children were trapped inside, police said. Several bystanders stayed at the scene to help the family that was trapped in the car. The driver that caused the crash was determined to have a blood alcohol content of 3.5 times the legal limit. He was arrested for DUI and felony hit-and-run.
