St. Paul police arrested the parents of a 1½-year-old boy who died on Christmas.
Preliminary information is that narcotics may have played a role in the boy’s death, according to police. Police arrested the child’s 38-year-old father and 31-year-old mother on suspicion of manslaughter.
Officers were called about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday to the 1000 block of 5th Street East where a child was not breathing, said St. Paul police spokesman Sgt. Toy Vixayvong.
The boy was pronounced dead at Regions Hospital after being transported there by St. Paul fire medics.
The Ramsey County medical examiner’s office will perform an autopsy to determine the child’s exact cause of death. The investigation is ongoing.Related Articles
