Christmas morning house fire in Chesterfield destroys laundry room

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A Christmas morning house fire did significant damage to a Chesterfield County homeowner's laundry room, including appliances.
Just before 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 25, crews with Chesterfield County Fire and EMS were called to the 11400 block of Walnut Hollow Court for report of a house fire.
When they arrived, firefighters found a fire that had started in the laundry room. Photos provided by fire officials show visible damage to the homeowner's washer and dryer.

Crews quickly put out the flames. No one was hurt and the homeowner will not be displaced.
Chesterfield Police investigating Christmas Eve home invasion, robbery
According to fire officials, the fire was started by a smoldering towel that the homeowner used to put out a stove fire earlier that morning.
