A yellow taxi van jumped the curb and slammed into a crowd of pedestrians walking near Macy’s on W. 34th St. and Sixth Ave. on Wednesday afternoon, NYPD officials said. Six people were struck by the taxi being operated by a 58-year-old driver traveling north on Sixth Ave. near W. 34th St., where he barreled onto the busy sidewalk across the street from Macy’s flagship store at 4:03 p.m., police said. Also struck were two women, both 49, and three other females ages 19, 37, and 41. The 41-year-old woman was taken to Bellevue Hospital with a head injury. The taxi driver was brought to Weill Cornell Medical Center with a laceration to his leg.
