(KRON) -- A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle Tuesday afternoon in Fairfield, according to the Fairfield Police Department.
Police responded at 4 p.m. to Cordelia Road just east of Lopes Road on the report of a vehicle collision. Arriving officers located the pedestrian along with the involved vehicle and driver, Fairfield PD said.

The pedestrian, a man whose identity has not been released, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver is cooperating with authorities, Fairfield PD said. Impairment from drugs or alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the fatal crash. No further details were immediately available.
