(COLORADO SPRINGS) — According to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) officers responded to a bank robbery on Pikes Peak Avenue near downtown on Christmas Eve, Tuesday, Dec. 24, leading to an arrest of an unrelated man with warrants. According to CSPD, officers arrived at the corner of Wahsach Avenue and Pikes Peak around 4 p.m. and learned that a man had entered the bank and presented a demand note. He then ran from the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash. CSPD said that officers found a man who matched the description while searching for the suspect in the area. The man ran from the police and they chased him. As they were chasing the suspect, he sprayed pepper spray and hit the officers, who responded by using a taser on the suspect. The suspect, Aarong Deggs, was taken into custody and it was discovered that though he was not related to the bank robbery, he did have active felony warrants, according to CSPD.
