HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) -- A North Carolina family is suing travel website Expedia and a local campground after they say a bat-infested rental property ruined their vacation. The negligence lawsuit filed Friday in Horry County Common Pleas Court names Expedia and Ocean Lakes Campground as defendants. The family booked a weeklong stay at the 1259 Sharks Tooth Trail home in May through Expedia-owned Vrbo, an online marketplace that connects rental property owners and managers with customers. According to the complaint, bats were found in the living room, kitchen and bedroom. "Due to these encounters, and the risk that the plaintiffs had, unbeknownst to them, been bitten by a bat while sleeping, plaintiffs had to undergo numerous painful and disruptive rabies vaccinations," it said.
