(KRON) -- A popular Korean fried chicken chain from Los Angeles is opening its first Bay Area location. Chimmelier will open on Monday, Dec. 30 in the Thousand Oaks neighborhood of Berkeley.
Chimmelier's first Bay Area brick-and-mortar will be at 1823 Solano Ave. There will be a soft opening party at 11 a.m. It will be first come, first served until they sell out, the restaurant said.
There will be a giveaway for two $100 gift cards. To enter, contestants need to follow Chimmelier's Instagram (@chimmelier) and tag two friends on this post. The winners will be announced on Christmas Day (Dec. 25).

"We're finally coming to the Bay!" Chimmelier said in an Instagram post. "After an incredible turnout at our first popup in May (over 1,000 tickets sold in just 2 days!), we’re excited to announce the opening of Chimmelier’s FIRST brick-and-mortar in the Bay Area!"
The address of this Chimmelier was the previous home of a Bopshop Korean Kitchen. Also at 1823 Solano Ave., Chimmelier will share the space with Oh G Burger -- an Oakland spot known for its Short Rib Smash Burger. That will open on Friday, Dec. 27.
Chimmelier started in Los Angeles' Koreatown at 2500 W 8th St. as the only other brick-and-mortar location. It is also a vendor at the Smorgasburg food market. Chimmelier has more than 20,000 followers on Instagram. It was named one of the best fried chicken spots in Koreatown by the Los Angeles Times.
