Some local businesses, activities open Christmas Day

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — From holiday lights to dining at a new restaurant, there's still many options for you and your family to add to your Christmas plans.
It was business as usual for some popular holiday spots this Christmas Eve.
"As we get closer to Christmas, we're definitely ramping up the busyness," said Cheyenne Schiro, event manager for the BayPort Credit Union Holiday Lights at the Beach.
Murphy's Irish Pub is also open Christmas Day from 5 p.m. until 1 a.m. with its full menu, live music and even Wednesday's NFL game on for people to enjoy.
"It's really fun, everyone is happy that we're open, and we get a lot of big families coming in, so it's really fun," said Murphy's Irish Pub server Izzy Gwaltney.
Servers say any restaurant or business that's open tomorrow would appreciate the extra community support.
"People are extra nice, very understanding and grateful that we're here working because not every single place is open, so everyone is super grateful," Gwaltney said.
If your Christmas dinner plans are already set and you're looking for something else to do, the Bayport Credit Union Holiday Lights at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront will be operating too.
"Come on down," Schiro said. Tickets are $35 tomorrow, pre-purchasing online does save you a couple dollars. We're so excited to welcome people. It's the favorite thing of the holiday season to do. I love seeing everyone come out and be festive in their hats or outfits."
Consider it an invitation for all to come out and make some holiday memories.
