MEMPHIS, Tenn. — There has been a shooting involving an officer in Hughes, Arkansas, the town's mayor confirmed Tuesday night. WREG crews can confirm that one person is dead — they can see a body covered in a sheet at the scene. Hughes Mayor Lincoln Barnett said the shooting happened around 8 p.m. on Main Street. He did not say which agency was involved in the shooting. Arkansas State Police have been called in to investigate, he said. WREG has reached out to state police for information.
