PENFIELD, N.Y. (WROC) - For many of you, it's mass before presents. That's why on this Christmas Eve; we found a massive crowd at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Penfield.

Hard to imagine any place selling gifts attracting a bigger crowd than St. Joseph's did Tuesday. Standing room only in the sanctuary and the overflow room. A good number were related to Parishioner Kerrie Mullen.
"We love spending Christmas Eve mass here as a family. We have some extended family who's here from out of town, so this mass is one of our favorites," said Mullen.
To Parishioner Mandy Friend Gigliotti, Tuesday's Christmas mass isn't an annual one-off, but an extension of their religious path.
"We're working really hard to bring our kids every single Sunday to show them the same path that we were able to find in our faith and especially celebrate him during this time and help the kids understand what Christmas is all about."
Father Jim also said hi before the service. When asked about Tuesday, he noted the Keep Christ in Christmas signs and encouraged folks to look at that a bit different.
A Christmas cookie connection
"The real question is, how is Jesus to be born again in our own human hearts, can we reflect the message of Jesus and the way that we are with one another," said Father Jim Schwartz.
A gift that can't be wrapped…or sold.
St. Joseph's will have more services throughout the night, and even two on Wednesday, Christmas Day. Those run at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.
