ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – A family-favorite took over the Geva Theatre stage during the month of December. Now, it's nearing its final shows of the season.

"A Christmas Carol" has been running since late November. Tickets are still available for its last few weeks on the stage. The holiday tradition returned this year with what officials called a "refreshed adaptation" of the classic story by Charles Dickens.
This year's version began with a wish made by young Tim Cratchit before four ghosts visit the notorious Ebeneezer Scrooge. One family told News 8 on Tuesday that they've seen the show 20 times this year alone because their daughter is a featured performer!
"She plays Belinda Cratchit, she's one of the Cratchit children," said Kara Hochreiter, her mother. "This year she auditioned and ended up getting the part. So, it's been kind of neat to see what goes into it and also see it as someone in the audience. It's very cool."
