Dec 24, 2024
EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) -- Merry Christmas Eve and happy holidays, Borderland! Conditions were on the warmer side during the day, but the skies are looking good over El Paso as we await the arrival of Santa Claus.
El Paso will drop just below 40 for Tuesday’s low. Come Wednesday, Christmas Day, a high near 70 is expected. Winds will accompany the warm temperatures, blowing in from the southwest at 10-15 mph in the afternoon. Gusts can reach speeds as high as 30 mph and blowing dust will be a factor in drier areas. Winds will decrease slightly come evening, but overall, the day will be a windy one.
For Thursday, we will see those winds die down and be left with cooler temperatures. A cold front entering the region Christmas night will leave the Sun City with a high in the low 60s and a low around 40. Similar conditions are expected for Friday and Saturday, with cool breezes.
One last gradual warm-up is in store for December where temperatures near 70 will return Sunday and Monday. Lows will be near 40 with mostly sunny skies.
Another cold front will drop us down to the low 60s on Tuesday. Overnight, New Year’s Eve, a low near 35 is forecasted. New Year’s Day will produce a high around 60 – starting the new year with more seasonably average temperatures.
From our team to your family, happy holidays!
