SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCBD) – A nonprofit organization based out of Summerville held a holiday campaign drive to deliver over 1,000 stockings to military service members at home and abroad this holiday season.
Towns4Toops-SE held a Santa for Soldiers drive that resulted in 1,113 stockings delivered, 204 care packages shipped overseas, and 250 free Christmas trees given away.
The stockings were delivered to students at the US Navy Nuclear Weapons Station in Goose Creek, the USCG Cutter Hamilton crew returning home to Charleston, and crew members shipping out on the USCG Cutter James.
“We are incredibly grateful to the community for their willingness to support our mission and show holiday cheer to hundreds of military service men and women stationed throughout the Lowcountry and overseas this season. Each stocking is made with love and careful attention to detail. We couldn’t do what WE do without our troops keeping us safe and free! We look forward to continuing to carry out our mission throughout the year with additional fundraisers and support drives,” said Rick Walls, Executive Director, Towns4Troops-SE
Towns4Troops-SE specializes in supporting military members from all branches by providing community resources, creating social events, and holding supply drives like Santa for Soldiers.
The nonprofit will deliver the final batch of stockings on Christmas Day.
