17 News has partnered with the Open Door Network and AltaOne Federal Credit Union to help former residents of the Open Door Network have a merry Christmas. AltaOne Federal Credit Union gave out its final holiday surprise to a former Open Door Network family. “In the credit union world, we believe it’s all about people helping people, and that’s exactly what we are—people helping people and giving a hand to those who need a little extra during the holiday season,” said Chris Lowe of AltaOne Federal Credit Union. “It made me feel happy that AltaOne chose us,” said the mother of the family. “I am a single mom of three children. We were at the Open Door Network, and they helped us get into this place.” The family has been living in their home for the past year. AltaOne helped brighten their space with a Christmas tree and presents, bringing holiday cheer to their new home. “The Open Door Network is really grateful to partner with them [AltaOne Federal Credit Union],” said Lauren Skidmore, CEO of the Open Door Network. “This is a tough time for a lot of people, and being able to brighten this family’s day makes it all worth it.”
