Held Dec. 14 in partnership with the Mojave Air & Space Port, the event made sure more than 600 children who otherwise might not have received a gift didn't go home empty-handed. Delano PD: No evidence of excessive force in contact with gang member "The generosity of the East Kern communities and the tireless efforts of our volunteers have brought holiday joy to so many families," Mojave CHP Commander Lt. Maria Pagano said in a release. Forty-nine decorated Christmas trees were raffled off and children were even treated to a surprise visit from the Grinch, the release says. The event was held at the Stuart O. Witt Event Center.
