WASHINGTON (DC News Now) -- A man died after he was rescued from a fire in Washington, D.C. on Christmas Eve. In a post on X around 2:23 a.m. on Dec. 24, the DC Fire and EMS Department (DCFD) said units were on the scene of a box alarm in the 1500 block of Ogden Street NW. Upon arrival, crews found flames coming from the first floor of a building. Worker dead after row house collapses in DC, fire officials say According to the DCFD, firefighters rescued a man from the fire. He was taken to a trauma center with critical and life-threatening injuries. In an update late Tuesday morning, fire officials announced that he died from their injuries. His name has not yet been released. DCFD said investigators determined the blaze started from debris in a fireplace. The fire was ruled as an accident.
