Tiburon home burglary suspect steals $400K in jewelry, clothing

(KRON) -- A burglary suspect who allegedly stole $400,000 worth of clothing, jewelry and purses from a Tiburon home was arrested after a months-long multi-agency investigation, the Tiburon Police Department announced Monday.
Police responded on May 30 to an in-progress residential burglary in the Hill Haven neighborhood. An unknown person was being watched on security camera footage by the homeowner, who reported the incident to authorities. Before officers arrived to the home, the suspect fled with clothing, jewelry and purses with an estimated total value of more than $400,000, according to police.

A follow-up investigation involved reviewing surveillance video, processing evidence and conducting interviews, Tiburon PD said. Cesar A. Menjivar Ramirez, 46, of Richmond, was ultimately identified as a possible suspect in the residential burglary.
A search warrant was executed on Dec. 19 at a Richmond residence connected to Ramirez, according to authorities. In the search, police said property that was stolen in the Tiburon burglary was recovered, along with items believed to be stolen from several other residential burglaries in Tiburon and the surrounding area.
Ramirez was arrested and booked into the Marin County Jail for burglary and possession of stolen property.
Tiburon officers have returned some of the stolen property to several victims. The department is continuing to identify additional victims and return property, police said.
