Embarcadero reopens after SF firefighters respond to Pier 28

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- Both directions of The Embarcadero in San Francisco were closed early Tuesday morning as firefighters responded to Pier 28 to extinguish a blaze. All lanes were reopened at 4:50 a.m.
San Francisco Fire Department crews responded to the 1-alarm fire at 4:05 a.m. Fire officials initially reported the fire was at Pier 30, however, videos shared by the department show crews at Pier 28. The fire was located and extinguished at the end of the edge of the pier.

Fire hose crossing The Embarcadero forced the closure of both directions as firefighters contained the blaze.

No injuries were reported in the response. The cause of the fire is undetermined, SFFD said.
